Teaching System

DS.VRU operates on a standard five-day school week, with six teaching periods each day. The school day commences at 7:30 am, initiating with a flag ceremony and student reception at the gate, and typically concludes at 4 pm, extending to 4:30 pm on Wednesdays to accommodate an array of student-oriented club activities tailored to their diverse interests.

As an English pre-service teacher at DS.VRU, I have observed a strong emphasis on technology-based education, particularly focusing on the effective implementation of Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) methodologies. Each dedicated teacher is responsible for instructing a specific subject, prioritizing student-centered learning approaches. The teaching process adheres closely to the instructional materials aligned with The Basic Education Core Curriculum B.E. 2551 (A.D. 2008), ensuring a comprehensive and standardized educational experience.

Some teachers, including my cooperating teacher (CT) Teacher Navalak, are tasked with additional responsibilities as chairpersons, contributing to the overall administrative functioning and educational advancement of the school. DS.VRU also facilitates the involvement of teacher trainees from various universities, who actively participate in practical teaching experiences, providing support as teaching assistants or occasionally leading classes under the guidance and supervision of official teachers. Additionally, the school benefits from the expertise of Filipino teachers specializing in English language instruction, contributing to the school's comprehensive language education program.

The educators at DS.VRU prioritize a holistic approach to education, not only imparting academic knowledge but also emphasizing the importance of adhering to school regulations and fostering a disciplined and supportive learning environment for all students.
